顎式破碎機(jī)的工作部分是兩塊顎板，一是固定顎板（定顎），垂直（或上端略外傾）固定在機(jī)體前壁上，另一是活動(dòng)顎板（動(dòng)顎），位置傾斜，與固定顎板形成上大下小的破碎腔（工作腔）�；顒�(dòng)顎板對著固定顎板做周期性的往復(fù)運(yùn)動(dòng)，時(shí)而分開，時(shí)而靠近。分開時(shí)，物料進(jìn)入破碎腔，成品從下部卸出；靠近時(shí)，使裝在兩塊顎板之間的物料受到擠壓，彎折和劈裂作用而破碎。
顎式破碎機(jī)（顎破）分簡單擺動(dòng)顎式破碎機(jī)和復(fù)雜擺動(dòng)顎式破碎機(jī)兩種類型，它們的工作原理很相似，動(dòng)顎的運(yùn)動(dòng)軌跡有較大的差別。簡單擺動(dòng)顎式破碎機(jī)，因動(dòng)顎是懸掛在支承軸上，所以當(dāng)動(dòng)顎作往復(fù)運(yùn)動(dòng)時(shí)，動(dòng)顎上各點(diǎn)的運(yùn)動(dòng)軌跡都是圓弧形，而且水平行程上小下大，而以動(dòng)顎的底部（排礦口處）為。由于落入破碎腔的礦石，上部均為大礦塊，往往達(dá)不到礦石破碎所必需的壓縮量，故上部的大塊礦石，需反復(fù)壓碎多次，才能破碎。破碎負(fù)荷大都集中在破碎腔的下部，整個(gè)顎板沒有均勻工作，從而降低了破碎機(jī)的生產(chǎn)能力。同時(shí)這種破碎機(jī)的垂直行程小，磨剝作用小，排礦速度慢。但顎板的磨損較輕，產(chǎn)品過粉碎少。復(fù)雜擺動(dòng)顎式破碎機(jī)，由于其動(dòng)顎又是曲柄連桿機(jī)構(gòu)的連桿，在偏心軸的帶動(dòng)下，動(dòng)顎上點(diǎn)的運(yùn)動(dòng)軌跡近似橢圓形，橢圓度是上小下大，其上部則近似圓形。這種破碎機(jī)的水平行程正好與簡擺顎式破碎機(jī)相反，其上部大下部小，上部的水平行程約為下部的1.5倍，這樣就可以滿足破碎腔上部大塊礦石破碎所需的壓縮量。同時(shí)整個(gè)動(dòng)顎的垂直行程都比水平行程大，尤其是排礦口處，其垂直行程約為水平行程的3倍，有利于促進(jìn)排礦和提高生產(chǎn)能力。實(shí)踐表明，在相網(wǎng)條件下，復(fù)擺顎式破碎機(jī)的生產(chǎn)能力比簡擺顎式破碎機(jī)高30%左右。但顎板的磨損快，產(chǎn)品過粉碎嚴(yán)重。

The working part of a jaw crusher consists of two jaw plates. One is a fixed jaw plate (fixed jaw), which is vertically (or slightly inclined at the upper end) fixed on the front wall of the machine body. The other is a movable jaw plate (movable jaw), which is inclined in position and forms a crushing chamber (working chamber) with a larger upper part and a smaller lower part with the fixed jaw plate. The movable jaw plate performs periodic reciprocating motion against the fixed jaw plate, sometimes separating and sometimes approaching. When separated, the material enters the crushing chamber and the finished product is discharged from the lower part; When approaching, the material placed between the two jaw plates is crushed by compression, bending, and splitting.
Jaw crushers (jaw crushers) are divided into two types: simple swing jaw crushers and complex swing jaw crushers. Their working principles are very similar, but the motion trajectory of the moving jaw has significant differences. A simple swing jaw crusher, because the moving jaw is suspended on a supporting shaft, the motion trajectory of each point on the moving jaw is arc-shaped when it performs reciprocating motion, and the horizontal stroke is small in the upper part and large in the lower part, with the bottom of the moving jaw (at the discharge port) being the largest. Due to the fact that the ore falling into the crushing chamber consists of large ore blocks in the upper part, it often cannot achieve the necessary compression for ore crushing. Therefore, the large ore blocks in the upper part need to be repeatedly crushed multiple times before they can be crushed. The crushing load is mostly concentrated in the lower part of the crushing chamber, and the entire jaw plate does not work evenly, thereby reducing the production capacity of the crusher. At the same time, this type of crusher has a small vertical stroke, low grinding and stripping effect, and slow ore discharge speed. But the wear of the jaw plate is relatively light, and the product is less crushed. The complex swing jaw crusher, due to its moving jaw being a connecting rod of the crank connecting rod mechanism, is driven by an eccentric shaft, and the motion trajectory of the upper point of the moving jaw is approximately elliptical, with a small ellipticity at the top and a large ovality at the bottom, while its upper part is approximately circular. The horizontal stroke of this crusher is exactly opposite to that of a simple swing jaw crusher, with a larger upper part and a smaller lower part. The horizontal stroke of the upper part is about 1.5 times that of the lower part, which can meet the compression requirements for crushing large ore blocks in the upper part of the crushing chamber. At the same time, the vertical stroke of the entire moving jaw is greater than the horizontal stroke, especially at the discharge port, where the vertical stroke is about three times the horizontal stroke, which is conducive to promoting ore discharge and improving production capacity. Practice has shown that under grid conditions, the production capacity of a compound pendulum jaw crusher is about 30% higher than that of a simple pendulum jaw crusher. But the wear of the jaw plate is fast, and the product is severely crushed.
